Turning 23! A "READ' themed birthday surprise!

On Monday 27th May, we celebrated Maddy's birthday in our signature Erasmus do-it-yourself style.
We 'shopped' at our own home for all the décor and hand made what we needed to complete the whimsical 'Read' theme for her day of celebrations.
I think it turned out great!

There was a yummy breakfast complete with freshly baked scones eaten at a delightfully set table that smelled of delicate roses.

Then presents wrapped in old book pages were opened much to the delight of Madison. There was perfume, Lindt chocolate, fluffy bed socks, a vintage-inspired sleep mask, a crossword puzzle book, and a gel manicure voucher. All thanks to E-bucks!!!

There was time for a quick mini photoshoot before Maddy headed off with her dad and brother to donate books at our local children's library and of course a stop in at the adult library to return and take out books.

Next, they headed to XandO Cronuts at 27Boxes in Melville to collect gourmet filled cronuts! This is what the birthday girl wanted instead of cake! All I can say is YUM!!! Thanks to Hyperli Vouchers we got a great deal!!!

Supper was another homemade affair and especially catered to what Maddy wanted. Waffles with a spicy mince topping, cooling salsa, and sour cream. They were delicious!

We ended our night watching "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
 An absolute favorite of ours!

Of course, no birthday is ever complete without a party pack or goodie bag!!
Ours were homemade and I think they look great!
It's amazing what one can do with an Ouma Beskuit box, old book pages, some wire, and a homemade stencil.
Of course, the snacks were yummy too!

It was so fun and very special to celebrate the day with our precious daughter. Nic took the day off from work and Liam put aside his studies for the day and we all enjoyed this family affair. Everyone helped to put this fun surprise day together
