When Irish Ancestors Are Calling - Part 3
Andrew Russell Stritch, my 3rd great-grandfather, was born in Ireland in 1818.
I still don't know who his parents are, but I am working on it!
Andrew is the father of my 2nd great Grandmother Sophia Isabella Mary Stritch (Hutton)
Upon reading Sophia's marriage announcement in the Lincolnshire Chronicle 1870,
I discovered that Andrew was a Resident Magistrate at Castlebar, County Mayo.
His job was to preside over the Justices of the Peace in court,
to make sure that they applied the law impartially.

Two years later on her 2nd wedding anniversary (1872) her father, Andrew passed away.
His death announcement was placed in the September 14th, 1872,
issue of The Irish Law Times.
He is described as a Barrister-at-law as well as a Resident Magistrate.
