A Look Back at Lockdown in South Africa - Day 1
I have been reviewing my lockdown journal, which I kept on Facebook, and decided that I wanted to record it here for future generations. On 26th March 2020 South Africa went into a full level 5 lockdown due to the Covid 19 Pandemic. We were not allowed to leave our properties unless it was absolutely essential. Schools, universities, restaurants, libraries, museums, parks, gyms, many workplaces, and shopping malls (except for pharmacies and food stores) were closed. We were not allowed to exercise outside of our properties or even walk our dogs. This is a chronicle of those days at home.

Day 1 of SA 🔒⬇️
We woke up to silence in our neighborhood. It feels so strange. There are no sounds of cars, and no sounds of children on their way to school. The world seems to be standing still.
We all were kept busy throughout the day:
* University assignments were done online
* The inside lawn was cut
* The pool was cleaned
* I weeded most of the courtyard garden...I am trying to get it established.
* I split and planted out some bulbinella and spring onions.
* The lettuce was planted out into a bigger pot
* I planted bush pea seeds.
* We laughed at memes, listened to music and read
* We washed blankets
* We did all the general daily chores
* Our pup, Tris, had a seizure 😥 she is doing better and has settled into a calm sleep
* Dinner was rice topped with chicken in a creamy garlic sauce and mixed veggies.
