When Irish Ancestors Are Calling - Part 5

 March๐Ÿ€17th
It's St. Patrick's Day!
Today has been a good day.
I got to speak to both my brothers and my sister. ๐Ÿ™
The flu is going around our house!
Nic and Maddy are not completely well yet and Liam started getting sick on Saturday.
I decided to make a fun Irish Irish-themed dinner to honor our Irish heritage.

A collage of pictures from our little celebration

On each plate, there was a card talking about a different Irish ancestor.
It was fun to share these brief stories with them.
There was a bowl of Irish blessings that we could take to read out loud.
We listened to Irish music and watched Irish country scenes while eating and chatting.
It was so lovely!

On the menu was Boxty. Irish potato and bacon pancakes,
topped with a baked white bean and sweet tomato casserole,
and an egg right on top.
Such a delicious and simply meal.
Much like one that our ancestors may have eaten.
With 3 out of 4 of us sick and in pajamas,
no one wanted to be in pictures or video!
I loved sharing this with Nico, Madison, and Liam
It's been a precious evening of talking about ancestors and heritage.
I loved it.
"May God hold you in the hollow of His hand" - Irish blessing.
Happy St. Patrick's Day from our home to your xx
